•   A very good news for Indians, as today Agni V Ballistic Missile was successfully test fired at 9:53 am. The Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman congratulated and said: “We have successfully launched nuclear-capable ballistic missile today”. It’s a missile capable of delivering nuclear loads of up to 1.5 tonnes. It’s a surface to surface missile, weighs 50 tonne, spreads across 17 meters and is 2 meter wide. Agni V is solid propellant, a three-stage missile with a strike range of Five Thousand kilometers; it’s the most advanced Nuclear Ballistic Missile currently in our arsenal. It was test fired from off Odisha coast. This missile is very important for Indian Army, as it would greatly enhance defense and attack abilities. Now, India will join the exclusive club of countries like USA, Russia, China, France and Britain that have the Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. In the test conducted, the missile covered a distance of 4,900 kilometers in less than 19 minutes. It was “Successful” according to the sources. The missile was hurled from a canister launcher, which was a located on the Abdul Kalam Island. This canister launcher provides the armed forces flexibility to take-off and repositions it expeditiously. The missile has very high accuracy due to its super advanced navigation and guidance system, which uses Ring Laser Gyro based Inertial Navigation System AKA (RINS) and Micro Navigation System AKA (MINS). This missile is indigenously designed by DRDO.  The missile follows its path precisely and uses an on-board computer extensively to deliver the payload with few meters of accuracy. In 2012 and 2013, the first two tests were in the open configuration. Today’s launch was a more sophisticated one. The ability to be launched was canister enables more agility, very high consistency, and extended shelf life. The Agni series of missiles have increased India’s presence in the Nuclear Warheads capabilities. The long-range capabilities provide safety against the nation of China; China is presently intriguing in Dok Lam and is trying to enter the parameters of the Indian Border. With this positive test of Agni V Ballistic missile, India’s position will again get fortified. Together with Agni I (range 700km), Agni-2 (range 2000km), Agni 3 (Range 2500km), Agni 4 (Range 3500km) and Agni 5 with a range of 5000km India’s nuclear fighting capabilities are greatly boosted.
