American historians agree that for many decades, there has been a tendency
among Americans to find new places and resources so that American individuals can be able to progress in life. Since the beginning of America as a nation, Americans have explored new lands and territories, so they have established new territories for them.
For this reason, Americans have expanded all over the world trying to find new resources that enable them to survive in a competitive world.
According to American historians, for many years, American society has showed that Americans tend to search for new places where to live and sources that they can exploit. The Frontier in the West was an opportunity for many Americans to explore new horizons and to look for new resources, so due to thatfact, many Americans traveledall the way to the far West in order to establish new communities and obtain resources that could enable them to acquire more revenues. However, after the Frontier was settled, there was a desire from Americans to expand overseas so that they could obtain new resources overseas, "For over two decades after the Civil War, the United States expanded hardly at all…Several developments helped shift America attention to lands across the seas…The concept of the'closing of the Frontier,' widely heralded by Federick Jackson Turner and many others in the 1890's, produced fears that natural resources would soon dwindle and that alternative sources must be found abroad.
