Despite the considerable investment in the provision of
health center ,However large number of
population, particularly those in the rural areas and deprived communities
still lack access to health center service.
According to health center principle and standards of health
center, due to lack of geographical
distribution of health center and some
populated areas there is not enough
health center accommodate the growing
number of population and the health
center do not take into account the standard and requirements for health center ,especially new one, poor
access to health center remains a huge
barrier in rural region and remote areas.
in the distribution of health center have also result in variation in health outcomes between woreda.
Objectives of the Study
The general objective of the study is to assess the spatial distribution
of health center in the West ARSI zone , using the Adaba , Dodola, Hasasa, Kofale shalla
woreda as a case study. Furthermore, the study seeks to address the
following specific objectives.
1. To assess the spatial distribution of health center of West Arsi
2. To identify the top
priority areas of the zone.
3..To investigate the factor/s associated with the less
distribution of the HC.
discussion above has highlighted the problems associated with the spatial
inequality in the distribution of health facilities. The study consequently
seeks to find answers to the following questions.

this study helps us to analyze the present situation of health center service
distribution. The main purpose to use GIS to distributional health service is
to assist a decision makers take the right position of health center , to
ensure the equitable distribution of health center for all residents and it enable us to identify
the top priority area and the factory associated with the less distribution of
health center in the study area. At the same time it provides useful
information for policy makers,researchers, civil society ,regional state ,zone
