Nord-Pas-De-Calais shares its border with Belgium and so there is a strong Flemish influence. For example, many people drink beer instead of wine and prefer to speak not French but Flemish.
If you go to this province, you will probably want to go to the CÔte d’Opale (Coast of Opals), which stretches as far south as Boulogne in Pas-de-Calais.
