(v) The use of loud-speakers and address systems should be totally banned from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
(vi) Heavy vehicular traffic in residential areas should not be allowed.
(vii) Use of pressure horns should be banned.
(viii) Coolers and other electrical appliances should be noiseless.
(ix) T.V., radio etc. should be played at slow volume which is tolerable to everybody in the house and neighborhood.
(x) Noise pollution by the vehicles should be checked by suitable adjustments and by fitting noise absorbing devices.
(xi) Automobile workshops should be away from the residential areas.
(xii) Green vegetation and plants should be grown. They help to reduce noise by 8 to 10 decibels.
(xiii) Legal measures should be enforced to check noise pollution.
(xiv) Public should be educated about the hazzards of noise and measures to reduce it as far as they can. Their active co-operation is also essential in controlling the noise pollution.
Now a days a number of very sophisticated instruments are available which not only check the noise level but they also measure the loudness, frequency and duration of noise. Such instruments are very useful in factories and other places where noise is a problem.
